Studio Days at Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore (Winstedt Campus) in 2016

My decision to go back to school for my Postgraduate studies in 2016 had been a very gratifying journey. The degree program had strengthened my practice as an artist and I am grateful for the tutelage of Dr Ian Woo and Adeline Kueh.
Jean Dubuffet remains an inspiration to this day and though I had pursued the path of Art Brut for my first semester, I found myself taking many other directions during the program - ranging from installation work, video, sculpture to painting.
I could not say that the final show was my best work but the degree program afforded me the luxury of time and space to experiment and develop as a midcareer artist. Central to my research was the use of paint, paper and clay. The versatility of these materials allowed me to create anthropomorphic forms both on 2 and 3-dimensional surfaces.
This culminated in my presentation, You, at our postgraduate art exhibition titled, Maybe in April 2017.
