Studio Days at Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore (Winstedt Campus) in 2016

I entered the postgraduate program at Lasalle College of the Arts in 2016. My decision to go back to school had been a very gratifying journey that further developed my practice as an artist. Thanks to the tutelage of Dr Ian Woo and Adeline Kueh.
I started the first semester hot on the heels of Jean Dubuffet who founded the Art Brut movement. I had been a freelance illustrator for many years and thought that my visual language would continue to be in this area. In my search to articulate my work during this 1 1/2 year degree program, I had experimented with many art forms ranging from installation work, video, sculpture to painting.
Even as I reflect on my time at the Winstedt campus, I have found that central to the development of my art practice is the use of paint, paper and clay. The versatility of these materials encompass both 2 and 3-dimensional surfaces that are organic in nature - and anthropomorphic in expression.
This research culminated in our postgraduate art exhibition titled, Maybe in April 2017. To see my work for this show, please visit the link below.
